Forward & Ahead

As this summer continues to fly by at an incredible speed, today did not. I did a whole lot of well-needed relaxation and unwinding.

We start shooting the GVSU summer film on Tuesday, and I’m pretty excited. I am also a little nervous, because film shoots = stress. It’s scheduled to be a quick shoot, and it will be finished by next Wednesday. All in all, the amount of days we’re shooting is seven days. My role is best boy grip.

My roommates were all away for the weekend, so that means I had a lot of alone time to think about life- past & present. There ain’t no better expression than: ‘bitter-sweet.’

I got to try out a Steadicam on Wednesday. This video is of Garrett Brown, inventor of the Steadicam.

The DP of the project I’m gripping for took a class with this guy.

I love filmmaking.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction.

I’m one of Christ’s biggest fans. And if I can turn the focus on the Beatles on to Christ’s message, then that’s what we’re here to do.
